Summery

We call this the Spiderman Park--don't know the offical name. It's got these great ropes to climb. Totally fun. It's directly behind the lake (see below). So kids can swim, sand, or climb and parents can watch from one place.

That's Kaya in the center of the water. (PS: I've decided bikinis aren't for me . . . and probably aren't for some of the other moms here. LOL! Why does it make me so uncomfortable when someone wears a bikini without asking the group "does this look flattering?" Holy cellulite Batman!)

A mom and her kids at the lake. For real!

I know planned communities aren't for everyone (HOA fees, rules about keeping livestock as pets, approval for painting the color of your home, etc.) . . .

but, we really do like living where we do.

I feel like there are so many things for our kids to do--within walking distance of home--I love it:

* Kayaking/sailing on the lake.

* Playing in the sand lake-side.

* Floating in the lake in an innertube.

* Playing at one of the 20+ parks (one has a zipline, another has a cool BMX/skater jumps . . .).

* Swimming at the pool (But not the hot-tub. Apparently the hot-tub was put in just to frustrate kids. They center it adjacent to the pool but won't let kids under 14 in it without a parent. It's a pain in the wazoo to keep the kids away from it. I find myself wanting to tell Paige to just tell the lifeguard she's 14. For real.)

* Biking or walking around the trails. (Illegally feeding the ducks. They make you. I swear they speak. Everytime I am walking a trail one of them asks me for a morsel. Ask Kindra. One time a big seagull or something jumped her for a slice of bread. Talk about scary!)

* Fishing (Though everyone tells me the muggles have fished the lake dry.).

Anyway, maybe I'm just getting lazy since we have a farily big family, but I love having so many things to do near home. I don't miss the driving. I don't miss "paying to play" (Raging Waters, etc.). And I don't miss standing in line for a 5.00 hotdog when we're ready for lunch (we just eat at home!).
