I thought I'd already have this week's Giveaway posted.
But, I don't.
Dave makes the survey for me, and in all honesty we've had about 20 minutes together in the last 6 days, so I'm setting a goal to post the contest by Sunday night at the latest (it's going to be such a fun one: Harvest/Fall themed).

Okay, so here's life in a nutshell--emphasis on NUT--these past 8 days at Casa de Pumpkin:
* School is in full-swing and the kids love it!
I love it, too, but I'm convinced the whole "drop off and pick up" thing is overrated. Talk about a waste of time. Holy cow. If I calculate the amount of time we spend getting ready for school, getting to school, and coming home, I promise I'm gonna get cranky. It's a lot of "man hours" spent "commuting." In that regard, I think homeschooling rocks. (Or working from home--for that matter. Less commute time. Fewer outfits. Less expensive lunches.)
* Lu Lu's finger is healing.
There were a few days there when I didn't think the finger was "connected." Of course I'm exaggerating--but really, the finger looked "dead." I'm soooooo glad it's connected and working (even if it does resemble a Frankenstein finger in the end).
* I missed Angie's birthday, but hope to make it up with 30 days of small gifts (she's 30 now...a pup!)
* I've gained an appreciation for mental health.
In all honesty, I'm not sure why/how this is possible, but between family/friends, I think I've spoken to 8 different therapists, DOs, MDs, and/or psychiatrists this week. (And none of them for me. Well, at least they aren't at the present time.)
What have I learned as a result of all of this "free" therapy?
There are good and bad professionals in EVERY industry. Just because you have a degree after your name, you aren't necessarily great at what you do. I know this sounds so critical, but I think after 20+ hours with medical professionals this week, I've earned the right to be a little critical.
PS: I've also learned that there must be a correlation between women with "man-hands" and crankiness.
* Jonah made a solar oven for science and cooked us a hot dog!
This just cracked me up. His oven got to 110 degrees, and the hot dog was YUM-O! SEE PHOTOS BELOW.
* The tooth fairy forgot to visit Kaya one night--and yet she's made 3 visits to both Paige and Lu Lu (who have yet to lose a tooth!).
How is this possible? One word: Camry. She has decided to "shadow" the tooth fairy this year. It's been quite the undertaking. (She does this where Paige and Lu Lu are concerned, but we had asked the REAL "TF" to still cover Kaya. Well, apparently Camry's a better intern than the real TF though--because Kaya had to wait two days for a visit! And, Camry makes letters, uses glitter, delivers candy...it's over the top! I think Camry may have a business plan in the works. Her service is amazing!)
* I've stalled on my Julie, Julia & Dawn Project.
Not giving up, just spending far too much time in hospitals this week.
* Dave is still the greatest part of every day.
Sounds cheesy, I know, but for the record: Dawn hearts Dave.
Thanks babe, for putting up with insanely late nights, coordinating difficult schedules, working tirelessly at your job, changing Lu Lu's owie twice a day, cooking, cleaning, and cutting more lawns than you can shake a stick at.
