Time to Exfoliate!

The kids are loving school, but Cam and I definitely miss spending daytime with them. Like, a lot.

I feel a little like someone who's husband worked from home for years, but now he's got a big job in the city. Sure, the job is great and new and a "good thing" overall, but you miss your time together--lunches and laughter.

And art!

Okay, well I'd never do art with Dave if he worked from home. But, I did do art with the kids when they were homeschooled. (And while I know it doesn't require homeschooling to do art with your kids, it's really hard to find anytime to do "normal" things once the kids are home from school each day--because for some reason, 7 hours of paperwork isn't enough. Nope, there's more to do once the kids get home. Something I don't understand, but that's another post.)

Anyhow, yesterday I managed to fit it in--the art.

And it was seriously "chicken soup to my soul." (Probably torture to the kids, but super for me. So there.)

We made these really fun exfoliating soaps. They are so cool! You take wool roving, wrap it around soap, and then soak it in water and mold it for about 5 minutes (until the fibers kind of blend or get matted together).

After the wool dries, it kind of shrinks and then you are left with a bar of soap that gently exfoliates.

COOL, no? (It's my favorite idea--inexpensive, colorful, and USEFUL!)
