An Evening in Excellence

Last night was the Evening in Excellence program for Camry's youth group at church. It's a REALLY neat night--an annual program where the girls/young women (eeek!) display different projects, talents, and progress on goals they've achieved this year.

The leaders for the program put together a really special program around the theme "Follow the Son." They used sunflowers to represent each of us--and then explained how sunflowers literally follow the sun in the sky as it moves throughout the day. Likewise, we should be followers of the "Son" and follow his example. They had sunflowers as a centerpiece and also made these gigantic sunflower cookies for each girl.

It was so neat--and inspiring--to see all the girls have achieved. Some are bakers, some organizers, some seamstresses, others more creative than you can imagine (Laura made a bike rack!).

It made me so proud of Camry--she shared/displayed her scrapbooking talent (which is something she LOVES to do) and it was beautiful . . .  and fun(ny) to see the decade's worth of photos she collected (Times in our lives when I had hair to spare--and Camry was a bald little bambina!).

Love you, Cam!
