This coming week is all about Paige.
She's turning 7 next Sunday (a week from tomorrow)!
It seems impossible--impossible--that she's turning 7!
(In my mind, she's still our toddler. In fact, I'd put her in a stroller if we were at the zoo . . . and she'd let me.)
These pictures pretty much typify Paige in my mind:
* She's funny funny funny.
(Like, she could be a physical comedian--impersonations, funny faces, crazy dance moves . . . anything to get you to laugh).
* She loves to draw--and can draw better than Dave or I.
(Show her a picture and she'll spend the next hour+ sketching).
* She's got AWESOME hair.
(It is the one thing she has to get used to: people ALWAYS ask her about her hair. And they should, its got some incredible curls.)
* She is a good friend.
(When Dave asked LuLu what she liked to play with, in hopes of getting an idea for Christmas presents, LuLu answered, "Paige." So, we're planning to box and wrap Paige December 24 and put a tag on her: "TO: LuLu FROM: Santa.")
* She's our miracle baby.
(Of course all children are miracles, BUT I'm just sayin', if you're adopted, you are a miracle times 2,000! I believe that with all of my heart. Every one of our adoptions has given us this insane feeling of love and gratitude for life. And as we've bonded with our childrens' birthfamilies, it's shown me that we really are part of a big human family, and that at our core, human beings have mad-love for one another. Period.)Oh! But my point, Paigey's adoption really was a miracle. A miracle that we found Amy. A miracle that our social worker at LDSFS was willing to move the sun and the stars to help bring Paigey to our family. And in all honesty, a legal miracle--because there were moments there at the beginning where we really did not know if we would get to keep Paigey forever.)
SO, Paigey, we love you bambina! We're proud to be your mom and dad. And we're so grateful for the love you bring to our family.
Have a great birthday week!
