365 Days; 536 Recipes

I was SOOOOOOOOOOOO excited to see the Julie & Julia movie last night. And I'll admit, a little nervous, too. Not because I had a cameo appearance in it, but because I love cooking so much--I wanted to LOVE this movie.

And you know what?

I did.

* I loved the premise (true-life 30-something decides to create a blog where she chronicles her year of cooking her way through Julia Child's famous cookbook, "Mastering the Art of French Cooking").

* I loved the movie's setting in 1940's Paris and 2000+ Queens.

* I loved the food.

* I loved MERYL STREEP and AMY ADAMS.

* I loved how the movie theatre was PACKED.

* I loved how people clapped when the movie ended.

* I loved learning about Julia Child--and I'm seriously going to learn more about her now. What a life! (Married at 40 for the first time. Didn't learn to cook seriously until 37. Crazy in love with her husband.)

* I love that the movie inspired me to buy the cookbook and cook my own way through it--which I'm going to begin Monday! Now, granted, not going to blog about it, necessarily. But, I'm going to try the cooking part and maybe comment about it. It looked life-changing. (PS: Anyone else wondering why I like life-changes so much? LOL!)

Stay-tuned for Monday's post. I'm getting ready for Giveaway #2--all Julia Child's themed.

PSS: Here's the link to the original blog: The Julie/Julia Project (Sidenote: The "real-life" Julie blogs a little like a truck-driver, meaning she uses colorful language. Sad to say, but I find this even more endearing and hilarious. Something about the juxdaposition of reading about French cooking and the eff-bomb--it makes me laugh so hard.)
