Today

I just got an email.

One that has me beside myself with sadness.

The daughter of a dear friend (from the English Department), has died giving birth to a healthy baby girl.

I'm just in shock.

I love this professor so much. My heart is broken for her and her family. (She and her husband had retired from BYU and were serving a mission in Peru. They've been released and are on their way home now.)

Most days, I feel grateful and grounded in the NOW. But today, it just hit me a little harder: THIS MOMENT is ALL WE HAVE. It's all we are guaranteed.

So, I'm keeping this blog post short--and heading out to pet the dog, read with Camry, and think about all the good there is to be had today.

I love you each.

(And please pray for my friend, Beverly.)
