Halloween Town

We had a great Halloween! I really think there's something amazing about Halloween in Utah. It's just such a big holiday. It feels like EVERYONE is out. I can't remember Halloween being this fun when I was a kid--sooooo many generous and kind neighbors.
At one house the dad said, "Don't take just one. Take 3 candies at least."

That pretty much sums up Halloween in Utah.

Other highlights of Halloween 2009:

* Lu Lu and Jr. carved their first pumpkins! (That's the kiddos we foster.)

* Paigey lost 2 front teeth the day before, so she had a really cute way of saying, "Trick or Treat."

* Jonah set up the porch with the skeleton, fog machine, black light and strobe light--AND THEN . . .  handed out candy for us (so Dave and I could Trick or Treat with the kids! Thanks, Jonah.)

* One of our neighbors made homemade donuts and hot chocolate as an additional treat. You got candy at the door, and then--if you were accompanied by a parent, you came inside for a donut and hocho. Is that over-the-top (let me answer, yes.).

* Liz gave me a bowl of her mom's chili en route. Soooooo nice! I'd been walking for at least 5 minutes, so I needed the break from the cold. LOL!

* A personal high, Whittney seems to have moved out of her home, but not out of our hearts--she was here to Trick-or-Treat. (Come back, Whitt!)

* Dave helped carve pumpkins, which is impossible for me. I'm not great with knives.

* Gr. Lorraine stopped by to see costumes.

* The weather was fairly warm for October in Utah. Woo hoo!

* Oh! And the Bishop handed out full-sized candy bars. (I wondered where that tithing money goes.  Just kidding!)

Dave and kids hit to scoots to collect candy.

Donuts--homemade. Who does that? (Gina B.)

Such a fun night tonight. Can't wait to post all of the pictures! Happy Halloween!
