My New Favorite: Wide-Mouthed Jars

A few months ago I was on an applesauce-making kick. I love making applesauce, but know zero about long term storage on anything I "can" at home.

So, I realized pretty quickly that I would need to make small bottles of the applesauce and share them with friends--who in turn, would need to eat the applesauce within 12 hours. LOL! (PS: If you're a friend and you didn't get one, you should have. It's just that I ate about half of the vat before I got to the canning stage. Sincerely. Half. Like 20 apples' worth. Man that was good.)

Anyhow, my point.

Since I owned NOT A SINGLE jar when I began making the applesauce, I got a little stressed during the 11th hour. ("Where are our flippin' jarssssssssssssssssss? What kind of Mormon mom doesn't have JARS?!")

But fortunately Dave put on his cape and got said-jars for me. (Thanks, Dave.)

But not only did he bring me back jars.

No.

He brought back these CUTE 1/2 pint wide-mouthed Kerr Mason Jars.

They are TO DIE FOR.

Perfect for single-serving everything (lunches, etc.).

The applesauce fit perfectly (and was the right size, given the fact that I had eaten half a vat already).

A happy ending.

I love those jars.

And here's my latest find on what to put inside 'em:

SINGLE-SERVING PIE!

PS: Pioneer woman is in Salt Lake City tonight--and I'm going!
