Post Thanksgiving Post

Happy Black Friday everyone! If you're like me, you'd planned to get up early and search for an overpriced electronic hamster at 4am this morning, but for some reason, getting up at 3am just didn't sound as appealing as staying in bed for an extra few hours.

Oh well.

I don't know that the hamsters are the real reason I wanted to get out. Really, I wanted to re-enact last year's early morning adventures with Dave. I had so much fun standing in long lines with him. I really did.

Dave.

That guy.

He's the real reason I wanted to blog this morning.

We just celebrated our 20th Thanksgiving together. (Some people celebrate wedding anniversaries. Not me, I celebrate Thanksgiving anniversaries. It's a sexy holiday . . . not. LOL!)

I love you so much Dave.

Thank you for being my best friend. (And for eating Thanksgiving dinner even though you were recovering from the flu. And even though you don't like turkey.)

(PS: I'm trying to get more photos of Dave on the blog. He's half the man he used to be--down over 45pounds since March!)

Carving the turkey. I thought we could carve at the table, until I realized how HUGE a turkey is!

Cam and Paigey helped serve/cook.

This is the apple cider brine I made for the turkey. The turkey soaked in it overnight. And I think it was the best turkey I've ever cooked (apparently humble pie wasn't on yesterday's menu).
SOOOOOO moist. Woo hoo!

Cam, LuLu and Paigey.

Jr. and Kai.

I think the kids ate turkey, pie and mashed potatoes. I'm really the only person that ate green bean casserole. Is that possible?

Dave and I (apparently my hair is a helmet).

Cam and LuLu.

Jr. and Jonah . . . and a turkey leg that could have been sold at the Renaissance Fair.
Paigey loves olives.

Turkey leg again.

LuLu and Jr. (everyone wanted to dress casual for the day--except LuLu,
who wanted to wear a church dress!)

Apple pie--in honor of Gpa Mike.
